Today from 3:15 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. the second of three possible head coaches addressed the media in the Siverson Lounge on Augustana’s campus.

Daren Wilkinson is coming from Colorado State University, where he coached quarterbacks and worked as the assistant recruiting coordinator from 2008-2012.

Wilkinson is no stranger to South Dakota, as he was the offensive coordinator as well as the quarterbacks and receivers coach for South Dakota State University from 2004-2007.

“This place is just what I expected,” Wilkinson said. “It [Augustana] is a great place, and I didn’t expect anything less.”

Colorado plays on Sonny Lubick Field and Hughes stadium, which is about two miles west of their campus. Augustana on the other hand is within walking distance, and even though it is a change, Wilkinson likes the stadium.

“It’s awesome,” Wilkinson said. “I was telling people that I drove around northern Colorado’s campus the other day since I haven’t been there, and this thing blows their place away, it’s awesome.”

Wilkinson began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at Colorado State in 1997, and he also played collegiately at Ricks Junior College before transferring to Colorado State.
