Thanking our scholarship donors

Many Augustana students rely on the generosity of others in financing their education, and at the 61st annual scholarship luncheon on April 21, they will have the opportunity to show their appreciation for donors.

“So often we take things from other people and don’t say thank you,” senior Erin Schoenbeck said. Schoenbeck will be addressing donors to speak about her experience at Augustana and how grateful she is to have been at Augustana through the generosity of others.

The luncheon will also feature a donor speaker and a student-produced “thank you” video put together by the Augustana Student Association.

Four-hundred-eighty individual donors and couples and 600 student scholarship recipients were invited to attend the luncheon, according to Katie Foutz, assistant director of annual giving and alumni relations.

Foutz said the main goal of the luncheon is to celebrate philanthropy. “We want [students] to meet their donors and thank them in person.”

Not only will students be able to meet their donors, but they will also be eligible to win door prizes, including gift certificates to the Augustana bookstore and an iPad donated by Roger Haugo and the Haugo family memorial fund.
