Highlights from the most recent ASA meeting on March 20, 2013
This past Wednesday, the Augustana Student Association (ASA) met for a typical meeting. With the agenda on the white board, vice president Matt Anderson started the meeting with swift taps of his gavel. The highlights are as follows:
The co-curricular committee gave updates stating that they are currently working on setting up a housing calendar to better alert students of upcoming deadlines and events that housing hosts to assist students during room and housing selection. There was further discussion of how students were either not receiving emails with selection numbers or students were receiving the wrong emails. There was discussion of how to clear up this issue.
Student group representatives will be required to attend one of two meetings on April 10, the first at 10 a.m. and the second at 4:30 p.m. Budget hearings are scheduled for April 13 and 20. Student groups will receive expense reports and more information at the meeting on April 10.
President Thad Titze motioned to create a new committee, one focusing on working with the college president to make our campus more sustainable. “Compared to other schools, not just liberal arts schools, we are behind on any sort of sustainability,” Titze said. The motion passed unanimously.
