Sept. 11 found the Augstana Student Association (ASA) senators gathering for the first meeting of the year.
Senators spent their meeting discussing the recent election and the voting process.
Next, discussion was raised about the new credit hour requirements, which will be applied to the class of 2014. Curriculum committee members are still working on helping to improve capstone courses.
Dining services, despite the new management, is still interested in the “Kitchen Cabinet,” a group which allows students speak candidly about dining services.
New business included a review of the constitution and how to run spring elections, specifically to avoid senators running for reelection also running the elections.
Senators also conversed about the new Residence Hall Association (RHA), a group comprised of students who plan programs for their dorms. ASA and RHA are not connected, but ASA currently has a presence in RHA to help get the group started.
ASA hopes to have an Augustana app to release by this Christmas.
The Bone Marrow Drive will be repeated this year, with dates to be determined.
Office hours for ASA will begin after all new senators are in office.
